Photographs & Visual Records

The curated public gallery displays 63 historical photographs and records across 63 canonical groups (56 photographs, 5 documents/records, and 2 identification badges) encompassing 85 cataloged original source files. The complete private family archive contains 750 preserved original source files across all family collections for verified living descendants.

• Generation Scope (Generations 1 to 6): Public exhibition documents direct paternal ancestors and pioneer families through Generation 6 (Marvin Charles and John Melvin Waldrip). Later generations, including 1970s and 1980s color slides from Pleasant Valley and Young, and living descendants remain private under family privacy rules.
• Grounded Provenance: Unidentified faces without verified album notations, inscriptions, or corroborating records remain in the private archive to prevent misattribution. Identities are never guessed from filenames or vintage appearance alone.
• Working Records & Negatives: Photographed binder note slips, negative envelopes, manuscript drafts, and raw clippings are preserved in the private corpus for research provenance rather than exhibited as standalone gallery plates.
• Variant Consolidation: Multiple scans, print duplicates, and alternate camera exposures of the same physical event are clustered into canonical logical groups without deleting any variant copy.
• Authenticated Family Access: Approved family members can sign in above to browse and download all 750 preserved original files in the complete private archive.
